Preparation
Guests should soak peeled beans (or black-eyed peas) for 2 hours before class. If using unpeeled beans, guests can peel them ahead of time to save class time. Please also prepare: * 1–2 onions * Fresh peppers (or chili peppers) * Salt and seasoning cube * Vegetable oil for frying * Blender or food processor * Frying pan/pot * Spoon or scoop * Paper towels/strainer for draining oil Optional: Guests can prepare a dipping sauce, custard or bread to enjoy with the akara after class.
